Every Relationship Has a Season. Keep Growing Through Every One.
From the excitement of discovering one another to the changes and challenges of a lifetime together, Side-by-Side gives couples a private, practical and enjoyable way to keep learning about each other — and keep choosing each other.
Love may bring two people together. Understanding helps them keep choosing each other.
Relationships rarely change because of one moment.
Small behaviors, changing circumstances, misunderstandings, pressures and emotional responses can accumulate over time. Without realizing it, two people who once felt completely connected can begin responding to each other instead of truly understanding each other.
We don't have to wait for something to be wrong to give a relationship attention.
We invest in our homes, careers, health, vacations and entertainment. Side-by-Side was created around a simple idea: a relationship this important deserves intentional care too.
Not because someone needs fixing. Because there is always more to discover about the person beside us.
Relationships Change. That's Part of the Journey.
Take a few minutes to discover the philosophy behind the Side-by-Side Relationship Series and why understanding the season you're in can change the way you experience it together.
Listen. Learn. Talk.
Sometimes the hardest part of a meaningful conversation is simply knowing how to begin. So we don't begin by asking either person to explain what's wrong.
Listen
Begin together with relationship wisdom from Tim Connor's 25 Relationship Principles. Neither person has to be the teacher, critic or problem-solver. You simply listen to the same idea together.
Learn
Move from general relationship wisdom into greater understanding of yourselves. Behavioral insights help explain why two good people may communicate, respond and experience the same situation very differently.
Talk
Now the conversation begins from a different place — not who's right or wrong, but what you've heard, what you've discovered and what you want to create together.
Begin With the Same Voice — Not Opposing Sides.
Tim Connor's 25 Relationship Principles became the original foundation of the Pairfection listening experience. The audio provides something neutral for both people to hear before turning the conversation toward themselves.

The Four Seasons of a Relationship
This introduction to the seasons of a relationship is the first message in Tim Connor's 25 Relationship Principles series.
Sit together. Press play. Let the principle become the subject — rather than each other.
Sometimes a Better Conversation Begins Before Either Person Says a Word.
You don't have to begin with the emotionally loaded words, “We need to talk.” Sit together. Pour a cup of coffee. Press play. Hear the same thought. Then see where the conversation goes.
You're Not Simply Learning About Relationships. You're Learning About Each Other.
The behavioral science of ProScan brings personalization into the Side-by-Side journey. Instead of assuming that two people experience communication, pressure, affection, decisions or conflict the same way, behavioral insights help couples better understand the differences already living inside their relationship.
Those differences do not automatically make one person right and the other wrong. They give you something meaningful to understand and talk about.
Understand Yourself
See natural behavioral preferences and recognize how you tend to communicate and respond.
Understand Each Other
Compare behavioral differences Side-by-Side and replace assumptions with greater understanding.
Create Better Conversations
Use insight as a starting place for productive, meaningful conversations together.
Your home.
Your pace.
Relationship Growth Doesn't Have to Feel Like an Appointment.
Side-by-Side was created so couples can invest in their relationship privately, comfortably and intentionally — without a classroom, group sharing or a schedule built around someone else's calendar.
Watch together. Listen together. Discover together. Talk together. Return whenever you're ready.
Recognize Where You Are. Then Begin There Together.
Every relationship changes as life changes. Side-by-Side doesn't ask you to fit into one relationship formula. Begin with the season that most closely resembles the relationship you're living today.
Discover Together
You're discovering each other and wondering where the relationship could go. Go beyond chemistry to explore who you are, what matters to each of you and whether you're aligned enough to keep moving forward together.
Grow Together
The excitement is real, and now you're beginning to build everyday life together. Summer helps couples understand communication, expectations, behavioral differences and the habits that can shape the years that follow the honeymoon.
Rediscover Together
You've shared experiences, responsibilities, changes and years together. Autumn creates space to look beyond routines and everything you've had to do — and intentionally rediscover the person you've been doing life with.
Restore Together
Life, pressure, responsibilities and accumulated misunderstandings can take something out of even a meaningful relationship. Winter creates a private place to understand what's happening, see each other differently and begin moving toward one another again.
There is no “best” season. There is simply the season you're in.
An Experience Designed to Bring You Side-by-Side.
Each season varies in depth, but the philosophy remains the same: create meaningful moments of listening, discovery and conversation.
25 Relationship Principles
Tim Connor's audio wisdom gives couples a shared place to begin, allowing the principle — rather than either partner — to introduce the conversation.
Behavioral Discovery
ProScan and Side-by-Side insights help turn general relationship ideas into understanding that is personal to the two of you.
Guided Conversation
Thoughtful questions and exercises help turn new understanding into conversations worth having.
Commitment Creed
Explore important commitments and expectations together, creating clarity around the relationship you want to build.
Words of Love
Tim Connor's relationship poetry adds warmth, reflection and romance to an experience that should also be enjoyable.
Return Whenever You Need It
A relationship keeps changing. Your resources remain something you can revisit as conversations, circumstances and seasons change.
Pairfection Began With a Question.
What if couples had a practical way to invest in their relationship before everything became difficult?
What if relationship development could be private, affordable and even enjoyable — something two people could experience together at home rather than waiting until accumulated hurts, circumstances and emotional reactions had made everything harder?
Pairfection grew from the belief that sustaining a relationship deserves the same intentional care we willingly give so many other important parts of life.
“My goal was ambitious then, and it remains ambitious today: help create a culture that values healthy, lasting relationships — and contribute in our own way toward reducing divorce by 10%.”
— Don Crosby, Founder of Pairfection.usA New Beginning Is a Different Journey.
Divorce Recovery is not a fifth season of Side-by-Side. When a relationship has ended, the focus changes from the couple to the individual — understanding what happened, rediscovering yourself and intentionally moving forward.
Whatever Season You're In, Don't Stop Discovering Each Other.
Begin where you are. Listen together. Learn about each other. Have conversations that may never have happened otherwise.
FIND OUR SEASONFrequently Asked Questions
Side-by-Side is designed to make relationship development feel understandable, approachable and personal.
Do both of us need to purchase the experience?
No. Side-by-Side is designed as one shared experience for a couple. You participate together rather than purchasing two separate copies of the same relationship experience.
How do we know which season to choose?
Choose the season that most closely reflects where your relationship is today. Spring is the Season of Dating, Summer is the Honeymoon Season, Autumn is the Seasoned Relationship, and Winter is the Tired Season — when life, pressure or accumulated misunderstandings may have created distance between two people.
Why does the experience begin with listening?
Listening gives both people a shared, neutral place to begin. Rather than one partner introducing an issue or telling the other what should change, a relationship principle introduces the idea. You can then learn from it and decide what conversation it opens for the two of you.
What are the 25 Relationship Principles?
The 25 Relationship Principles are an audio relationship series featuring Tim Connor. They became an important foundation of the Pairfection Listen, Learn and Talk process because couples can hear the same message together before discussing how the principle may apply within their own relationship.
What role does ProScan play?
ProScan brings behavioral self-awareness into the experience. Depending on the Side-by-Side season selected, behavioral reports and comparisons help couples better understand their natural differences, communication preferences and the ways they may experience one another differently.
Do we need a facilitator or counselor to participate?
No. Side-by-Side was designed as a private relationship-development experience couples can use together at home. It is not therapy and does not replace professional counseling, medical care or other appropriate professional support when those services are needed.
What if our relationship isn't in trouble?
That's one of the reasons Side-by-Side was created. Relationship development does not have to begin with a crisis. Couples can use the experience to keep discovering each other, strengthen communication and intentionally care for the relationship they already value.
Can we move into another season later?
Yes. Relationships change. Dating becomes building a life together. Years together create new experiences and new responsibilities, and sometimes life simply becomes tiring. Side-by-Side is organized so couples can continue growing as their relationship moves through different seasons.
